Beehive Cake Recipe

Beehive Cake Recipe, I used turmeric in the outer cream of the Beehive Cake Recipe to give it a yellow color. If you think that you will be disturbed by its smell, you can use yellow food coloring.

Beehive Cake Ingredients:

  • Sponge:
  • 3 eggs
  • 85 g granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon of orange juice
  • 55 gr flour
  • 25 g cocoa
  • 1 glass of milk + 1 teaspoon of sugar (for soaking the sponge cake)
  • Intermediate Cream:
  • 2.5 cups of milk
  • ½ teaspoon of granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon of flour
  • 2 teaspoons of starch
  • 1 packet of vanilla
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 bananas (to put in between)
  • Outer Cream:
  • 1 small box of liquid cream (Sek or Tikveşli brand)
  • 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric or 2-3 drops yellow food coloring
  • 2-3 tablespoons of whipped cream (if needed)
  • For Bees:
  • Yellow and white sugar paste
  • Black food coloring or black food pencil

How to Beehive Cake:

  1. Separate the egg yolks and whites. Beat egg whites with half of the sugar until fluffy.
  2. Beat the egg yolks with the other half of the sugar until the consistency of mayonnaise. Add orange juice and whisk.
  3. In a large bowl, mix both mixtures and cocoa + flour mixture (sieve and add) slowly with a wooden spoon.
  4. Grease the round bowl-shaped pyrex mold with butter and pour the dough you prepared into it. Cover the mold with aluminum foil and place it in a preheated oven at 180 degrees. After 30 minutes of cooking, remove the foil on it and bake for another 10 minutes and check if the inside is cooked. Insert a clean knife and remove it, if it comes out dry, it is cooked. Remove the sponge cake from the oven and cool. Leave overnight if possible. Divide the sponge cake into 3 or 4 parts.
  5. To prepare the cream, put all the ingredients in a saucepan and cook on medium heat, stirring with a wire whisk. When it thickens and turns eyes, turn off the heat and cool it by stirring occasionally.
  6. Wet the sponge cake layers with milk sweetened with a little sugar and spread pudding between them. Put the banana slices and stack the layers on top of each other.
  7. Beat the cold liquid cream thoroughly with the high speed of the mixer. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla and continue beating. If your cream has not thickened, add whipped cream and whisk. Put the turmeric and whisk. Spread the cream on the outside of the cake.
  8. Prepare bees with sugar paste, place them on the cake.
